Gina Scarboro, DBA, MMSc, CAA, is the Executive Director of the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP). Prior to her role as the chief staff officer for CAAHEP, Dr. Scarboro was Associate Professor and Dean for the College of Health Professions at South University. She attended Emory University for her Master of Medical Science degree and holds a Doctorate in Business Administration with a research emphasis on interprofessional teamwork. Dr. Scarboro was the founding Chair of the Association of Anesthesiologist Assistant Educational Programs, past President of the American Academy of Anesthesiologist Assistants (AAAA), and a member of the Physician Assistant Committee for the Georgia Composite Medical Board. In 2018, Dr. Scarboro received the Distinguished Alumni award from Emory University and was the commencement speaker for the MMSc in Anesthesiology program. In addition to her activities in higher education and service, Dr. Scarboro continues to practice as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant.
